for everyone

The ride to the bus depot this morning was a hazardous one.  There were a number of crazy drivers out there rushing in and out of lanes, cutting off semi trucks and cars.  This was the start of a bad day for both my wife and I.  Fortunately, the ride on the bus was calm and lacking of incident.  Time for a few songs shuffled on the iPod.

1.) Heart of the Dragon by Dragonforce from The Valley of the Damned

2.) Million Miles Away by Offspring from Conspiracy of One

3.) The Matrix Survives by Vince DiCola from Til All Are One

4.) Dusted by Leftfield from Rhythm and Stealth

5.) When We Were Young by the Killers from Sam's Town

6.) Amish Paradise by Weird Al Yankovic from Bad Hair Day

7.) Tennessee by Arrested Development from 3 Years, 5 Months, and 2 Days in the Life of...

8.) Place for my Head by Linkin Park from Hybrid Theory

Starting out with anything by Dragonforce is always a good thing, especially after dealing with the jack-holes we encountered prior to getting on the bus.  Listening to Dusted made me remember how much I miss that album.  See, we had about 15 CDs in a travel pouch and can't find that pouch.  It's been missing for a few years now, but I still keep all cases for them on the off chance we find them.  I have a theory that one of our nephews snatched them, but have no proof of that other than his track record for having things go missing in his presence.  I hope I'm wrong, but at this point it probably doesn't matter any more.  I'm just upset because that CD pouch contained my CDs.  But, I digress.

We get to Seattle and got into the building.  As a couple ladies fumble about, getting their possessions onto trays to go through the x-ray machine, my wife and I, ready to go through the security checkpoint, go around them.  My wife makes it through and picks up her things.  As I was about to go through another man came up.  I was going to let him ahead, but he motioned me through.  I went through the metal detector unscathed and went to gather my jacket and backpack.  As I do, one of the rent-a-cops scolds me for cutting in line twice.  Once in front of the fumbling ladies and twice in front of the man who motioned me to go ahead.  He says there are two lines and I cut in both of them.  I didn't know what to say, so I grabbed my things and left, infuriated I was talked down to like I was a 5-year old by a rent-a-cop on a power trip.  I tried ot let it go, but damn that f****r pissed me off.

So, thanks to the jack-hole in uniform the rest of my day drags on and on and on.  Thankfully, the bus ride home enabled me to blow off steam with another iPod shuffle.

1.) Reset by Mute Math from Mute Math

2.) In the Belly of the Monster by Vince DiCola from Til All Are One

3.) Learn to Fly by Foo Fighters from There is Nothing Left

4.) Cybertron by Steve Jablonsky from the Transformers soundtrack (2007)

5.) Pretty Fly for a Rabbi by Weird Al Yankovic from Running with Scissors

6.) I Should be Laughing by Patty Smyth from her greatest hits album

7.) Enemy by Jesca Hoop from Kismet

8.) 20th Century Girl by Pizzicato Five from The Fifth Release from Matador

9.) After We Left our Homes by Mute Math from Mute Math

10.) Who Let You Go? by The Killers from Sawdust

11.) That's Me Trying by William Shatner from Has Been

12.) Kim Kap Hwan by Toshihiko Sahashi from the Fatal Fury the Movie soundtrack

13.) Til All Are One by Stan Bush from In This Life

Some good songs in that mix.  Mute Math's always a winner no matter what mood I'm in, same with the Foo Fighters.  Cybertron gave me pause to think with it's soothing, yet somewhat haunting melodies.  I Should be Laughing and Enemy make an excellent pairing as they both speak of touchy subjects and Shatner's That's Me Trying fit in there well too.  I liked ending with Kim Kap Hwan and Til All Are One.  The Fatal Fury track reminds me of the moment in the film it took place in, where the main character, Terry Bogard, fights Kim Kap Hwan on the docks.  It's a friendly match and speaks to the character's camaraderie.  Til All Are One is a reworked version of Ground Zero from the BotCon CDs offered through the convention from 1998 until 2000 or so when they ran out.  It has an 80's rock feel to it that made a nice way to end the ride back to the bus depot.

Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day.
