I decided to clean up my half of the bedroom this afternoon.  It's been a long time coming with toys and books stacked atop boxes and other stuff.  So, I started with one area and worked my way towards the dresser/bookcase.  It took a couple hours, but I got it to a much better point than where it was when I started.

I packed away a Tupperware bin full of Star Wars toys, including some I plan on decorating my cubicle with when the time comes.  I figure it will be about 3 months until I get a place of my own at work, so these little guys can be packed away for now.

Another half-Tupperware bin was already filled with Transformers, so I filled it the rest of the way with those robots in disguise.  The Wal-Mart exclusives Fracture, Breakaway, Crack Case, Big Daddy along with a number of recently-acquired Cybertron toys joined the menagerie of the bin.

Clearing out a hat box of my wife's and some Speed Racer toys from the movie I never opened that will go to Goodwill tomorrow opened up space for the storage boxes I got from work a whil eback that are filled with R2-D2 stuff.  This cleared off the top of our two-drawer, seldom-used file cabinet for me to make my menagerie shelf.  I tried taking  apicture of it with the old camera with the busted view screen, but couldn't center it right.  So, I used the newer camera that seems to dislike taking pictures indoors no matter what I do to the settings. *sigh*

So, from left to right, back row to front we have: Transformers Universe Onslaught, Transformers Universe Silverbolt, Transformers Animated Bulkhead, Red Hulk, Transformers Universe Nemesis Prime, Beast Wars Megatron, Union Jack, Silver Savage, Spiral, Xorn, Hawkgirl, Lee Scoresby (Sam Elliott from the Golden Compass), some Halo 3 dude, Black Manta, Yoda (from my '07 birthday cake), Indiana Jones & horse, Grottle, Combat Heroes Snake-Eyes and Timber.

I anticipate this display will change from time to time as new things come and old things find their way into boxes or whatever.

Author:Greg Pak
Four of Earth's mightiest heroes, Black Bolt, Dr. Strange, Iron Man, and Mr. Fantastic tricked the Hulk into going on a mission to space he wasn't designed to come back from. Hulk ended up a slave on a far off world and eventually became it's king. A warp core breach on the ship that brought Hulk to Sakaar destroyed most of the population of that world, killing almost everyone on it including Hulk's wife, child, and unborn child. Blaming those that brought him to Sakaar, Hulk and his Warbound make their way back to Earth to seek justice on those that destroyed their world.

World War Hulk starts and ends with a bang. There is a lo of action, a lot of fighting going on in this book as the Hulk takes his revenge on those he believes took his peace away. But, there's a good story in here too, a story that follows on the heels of the Marvel Civil War that shows that the good guys don't always make the best decisions.

Greg Pax writes every character well. He has a firm grasp on the characters in this book, from the old favorites like Ben Grimm and Spider-Man to newer characters like the members of the Warbound.

John Romita Jr. is not my favorite comic book artist. I dislike his line work and shading techniques and that all the men seem to have the same faces with giant, rectangular noses. However, for this story it works. There is a lot of rage, a lot of energy in World War Hulk that suits Romita's style.

What I liked best about World War Hulk was that you don't need to be familiar with the entire Hulk story line to follow what's going on in this book. It helps, no doubt about it, but World War Hulk can stand on it's own and I think it does so well. It doesn't have a happy ending, but it has the best ending possible for the story. If you want to see Hulk at his strongest, at his maddest, then this is the book for you.

I've never been a big fan of the Hulk until this year with the new movie and now with this awesome Mighty Muggs version of the big green super hero. Using the standard body-type, Hulk has three points of articulation; neck & shoulders. He's decorated in green with torn purple pants and the coolest, goofiest, toothiest grimace yet to be seen in any of the Mighty Muggs lines. He's also detailed with toenails, fingernails, nipples, and a belly button. Hasbro could have left those out, but their inclusion makes this version of Hulk all the better.

As usual, the Mighty Muggs continue not to disappoint me. Hulk looks great and is a wonderful addition to the line. He's not the fastest seller in the Marvel line-up, so you shouldn't have too much trouble tracking him down now that you know how cool he is.

I was warned that this movie was bad. Online reviews said as much as did friends and co-workers that had seen it. I was warned. But, after seeing the Incredible Hulk (in theaters now), my curiosity was piqued enough to give this a try. I was warned.

Hulk is a steaming pile of crap. If this film is indicative of Ang Lee's work, that man should never be allowed near a film again. Horrible direction, editing, and special effects plague this movie. After almost an hour in, I was bored to tears. The actors, on an individual level, are fine, but there's no chemistry between anyone in any scene. Eric Bana, Jennifer Connely, all of them just stink every scene they're in. Even Sam Elliot is horrible in this and I didn't think that man could suck in any role.

The first time Banner Hulks out, it's for no apparent reason, just an excuse to get the slow, plodding story going. And then it dies down again. This would have made a better television series than a feature film. Well, I was warned.

So, don't see this movie. Don't rent it, don't watch it, and if someone gives it to you as a gift you should throw it in the garbage or furnace or deep space. Go see the Incredible Hulk starring Ed Norton and Liv Tyler. Don't watch this one. Ever. You've been warned.
